Tom Daley engaged to Dustin Lance Black

The olympic diver and USA screenwriter shared an artistic snap of two silver rings propped against each other – and on sat top of the newspaper announcement – on their Instagram and Twitter accounts.

The Olympic bronze medal-winning diver announced his engagement to the filmmaker in The Times’ Birth, Marriages and Deaths section on Thursday.

Debbie continued: “At the moment he is training in Stratford and focusing on competitions to prepare for Rio at the start of August”.

“I don’t think they’re planning anything until after Rio”, Tom’s mother Debbie tells the Daily Mirror newspaper. “I’m gaining another (son), it makes everything all good”.

She told the Plymouth Herald “The whole family is extremely excited and looking forward to the big day”. Debbie additionally stated in that the family has taken a shine to Dustin, 41, who she refers to as “Lance”, & described him as a “very likeable human being who gets together with everybody”.

Tom and Lance are believed to have been introduced by mutual friends at the Soho Hotel in London in 2013. The 41-year-old USA citizen won the best original screenplay Oscar in 2008 for the movie “Milk“, according to BBC. “When I was 13-years-old, my handsome mother and father moved me from a conservative Mormon home in San Antonio, Texas, to California and I heard the story of Harvey Milk”, he said. “I would like to get married”.
