Tom Daley may have found his perfect match in Daniel Goodfellow
This is an event where you have to dive with somebody else.

But he couldn’t have won his most recent medal without Dan Goodfellow.
Sylvia said: “We are very, very proud”.
Asked why he thinks some media outlets amended their coverage, he said: “They’ve clearly listened to their readers’ opinions”. You just have to be in the moment and enjoy it and give it your best shot’.
Goodfellow joined forces with Matty Lee in the 10m synchro, and they were making an impression at a series of global meets, but then injury struck.
A few hours later, Sharon Goodfellow seemed to be in better spirits, tweeting her thanks to everyone that had reached out to offer their congratulations, adding it would take hours for her to get back to everyone.
She did, however, praise the Metro for their front page.
A surprise star of Peaty’s story has been his adoring grandmother, Mavis Williams, who roared him on from her home in Sheffield before tweeting her congratulations to the victor and his coach.
She’s likely to be disappointed – it’s the same as the one she saw last night.
Meanwhile, Tom shared a photo of himself and diving partner Dan Goodfellow holding their bronze medals, along with the caption: “I can’t believe it!”
He scooped the GOLD young sports performer of the year award at the Living Sport Sports Awards, having won the bronze medal at the European Junior Championships.
68-year-old Rosemary said: “I always wear this special pendant which has Robert in it so when I watch diving, he is in there. Instead of shying away from it you’ve got to accept it and you’re going to have to deal with that”.
The focus on Daley at the expense of Goodfellow drew widespread criticism on social media.
He said: “I think he wants to come back to the farm and he wants to come back to the family”.
They waited until right at the last minute to get the 86 points they needed to come third after a weak first 2 rounds.
Goodfellow almost had to give up diving altogether, overcoming injury to compete at Rio 2016.
In sailing, five-time Olympian Nick Dempsey won two of his three races in the RS:X classification to lead the competition after day one. He was already suffering with floating bone and cartilage in the joint.
It was a nerve problem and an issue with the long thoracic nerve that meant he was unable to raise his arm above his shoulder. He couldn’t dive for a year.

Goodfellow, 19, from Cambridge, and Daley, 22, have been living together in Daley’s London home in the days running up to the Olympics after training together for just 10 months. The synchro is “natural”, he says.
