Tommy Hilfiger: Nadal is the ideal model

Tommy Hilfiger stopped traffic in midtown yesterday afternoon, so much so that the man himself had to jump out of his chauffeured vehicle and walk a few blocks to Bryant Park where the designer’s powerhouse eponymous brand was busy launching their underwear, tailored suiting, and TH Bold fragrance ad campaigns all fronted by tennis star Rafael Nadal.

Rafael Nadal has not been showing off his tennis skills before the US Open 2015, but he certainly has been putting his body in display.

Rafael Nadal is upbeat about the US Open, which starts on Monday though it is his last chance to continue his winning run of at least one grand slam title in 10 straight years.

“I try to enjoy a different thing, a new world, a different experience”, Nadal says. Winning or losing is part of the game. It doesn’t affect my personality and my way to see the things in life. Then again, considering he was publicly voicing self-doubt before the French Open, this new assuredness is a notable difference. He finished the season as the world No. 1. “No fat.” So, he called Nadal. Design innovations, including a special four-way flex stretch technology, combine with premium fabrics for a result that’s sophisticated, durable and essential for every day comfort.

This month, the 29-year-old Nadal failed to make it past the quarterfinals in two hard-court warmups.

Nadal will now head into the US Open as eighth seed, which starts from August 31. Previous year I couldn’t say that. He gained the event the final time he performed in New York, after which was unable to defend his title final yr due to a proper wrist damage.

The 28-year-old could set a record for the largest payout in tennis history at the US Open – $4.3 million.
