Jones, best known for portraying a tenacious U.S. marshal in “The Fugitive”, joins a cast including Matt Damon, Julia Stiles and Alicia Vikander.

Plot details are unknown at this time, though sources say Jones will play a superior officer at the Central Intelligence Agency.

Greengrass is writing the screenplay with Christopher Rouse. Frank Marshall is producing with Greengrass, Damon, Greg Goodman, and Ben Smith, and Rouse and Henry Morrison will executive produce.

In terms of the story, all we really know is that Bourne 5 will bring the focus back to Jason Bourne, the lead of the first three films. Damon last played the iconic role in 2007’s “The Bourne Ultimatum“, and Jeremy Renner stepped into the franchise with 2012’s Tony Gilroy-directed “The Bourne Legacy”. The film will begin production later this summer, with an expected release date of July 29, 2016.
