Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot edges up slightly: To $454 million
Though the jackpot may not be as jaw-dropping as the $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot in January, it’s the biggest Mega Millions jackpot this year and is worth $319.7 million if paid out in a single lump sum. The jackpot has been growing since early March, when a Washington state man snagged $157 million with his winning ticket.

The drawing will take place LIVE at 11pm, here on FOX 29, following the FOX 29 News at 10. For Powerball, it’s one in roughly 292 million.
Odds are long of hitting – as there is a 1-in-259 million chance of hitting all five numbers plus the Mega-ball. Virginia Lottery spokesman John Hagerty tells The Associated Press that means the jackpot for the next drawing on Friday will be an estimated $508 million.
Jeanne said he knew his odds are slim to win the Mega Millions but felt marginally better going in with about a dozen co-workers in an office pool.
If someone wins it could be the 7th largest jackpot in US history and the largest since a $429.6 million Powerball prize won by a New Jersey family on May 7. The game is played in 43 states, District of Columbia and Virgin Islands. The cash option prize would be $313.3 million.
