Tony Romo Could Miss 6-10 Weeks With Back Injury

Heading into last season, the Cowboys thought all would be well with the return of Tony Romo and Dez Bryant from injury and Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain from suspension, only to have their second-worst season of Jones’ ownership.

He has the NFL’s best offensive line and one of the game’s best receivers. And for Dallas, it was a moment they were hoping they could avoid this year. “We’ve heard a wide range of possibilities in terms of when he would be able to play”. Owner Jerry Jones and executive vice president Stephen Jones have both said that rookie Dak Prescott will open the regular season as the starter.

On Thursday, Tony Romo was knocked out of his Dallas Cowboys’ preseason matchup with the Seattle Seahawks on a from-behind tackle from Cliff Avril.

“In his case, the most important thing will be nutrition”, Bosita said, adding that a high-protein diet, calcium, and vitamins D and C can expedite healing. He has shown no signs of being skittish. The Dallas Cowboys’ bye occurs in Week 7 of the 2016 National Football League regular season.

“He’s come to our camp [the Manning Passing Academy] before and I watched him play at Mississippi State”, Manning said.

“Yeah, again, like with every player on our team, we’ll take the situation day by day”, Garrett said. Prescott has been impressive all preseason.

The next question is whether Prescott plays in the preseason finale against Houston on Thursday night. In three games, he threw for 779 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s a very prepared guy. That means the Giants will christen the National Football League career of Prescott, who has been nothing short of a summer sensation for the Cowboys.

Two years ago, the Cowboys ran the ball 50 percent of the time.

The injury means rookie Dak Prescott, who has been in exceptional form in pre-season, is now likely to thrust into the starting line-up earlier than expected. On third downs, Prescott should feel equally comfortable throwing to tight end Jason Witten or slot receiver Cole Beasley.

While initially hesitant to rule Tony Romo (back) out for Week 1, the Cowboys now seem to be on board with the 6-to-10 week timeline that accompanies a compression fracture of the L1 vertebrae.
