Tony Romo Proves To Be The Cure-All For Dallas Cowboys
At least this is the thinking from Cowboys’ defensive end Jeremy Mincey following the return of QB Tony Romo after the team’s 24-14 win over the Dolphins, their first since mid-September.

That’s okay. There are plenty of concrete things he brought to the game that the Cowboys did not have with either Weeden or Cassel.
This, from the owner, comes during the same time when Dallas DE Jeremy Mincey called Romo “the savior of [the] season”.
Early in the Cowboys-Dolphins game in Miami Sunday, it was evident that Dallas had an improvement in quarterback play compared to the past seven games. But now they have Tony Romo back. Romo had an 83.5 passer rating, leading the Cowboys to 24 points. The left-handed desperation lob allowed him to avoid a safety on the Cowboys’ opening possession. This is not breaking any story about what he means to this thing, but you have to understand that his mental mastery of the offense is such right now that he literally coordinates the offense from under center.
But Suh’s greater contribution might have come when, according to a tweet by Ian Rappaport of NFL.com, he had a meeting with defensive players in which Suh addressed them in “an incredibly fiery & demanding speech”. But at the start of Sunday’s game, the angels were most definitely crying.
Miami tied the score 14-14 on a Tannehill’s 29-yard TD throw to receiver Kenny Stills with 5:20 left in the third quarter. His success in the passing game against the Dolphins came nearly entirely out of shotgun. Romo’s presence as a passer, and the use of play action, keeps the other defense from loading the box.
They should’ve gotten the ball back quickly and the decision to punt would’ve been forgotten.
Miami (4-6) was led by quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who threw two touchdown passes. Yes, that is a sometimes misleading statistic, and some coaches, like, say, Chip Kelly, completely disregard it. But for the way the Cowboys are constructed, it is integral to their game plan. It opens up the running game, as McFadden had one of his best games of the season in what looks like a 1000-yard year for him.
This season, McFadden has rushed for 623 yards and 2 touchdowns on 159 carries. Stopping the rush forced Washington to be a one-dimensional offense. They put pressure on Tannehill, held Miami to 70 total rushing yards and contained Jarvis Landry-who had just four catches for 66 yards.
“We looked like our old selves in a lot of ways”, tight end Jason Witten said. It really is going to come down to fundamentals. We have to take something away from an otherwise poor offensive showing. He threw an inexcusable interception in the red zone when pressured with a blitz in the first quarter.
Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes (21) intercepts the ball as Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant (88) attempts top tackle during the first half of an NFL football game, Sunday, November 22, 2015, in Miami Gardens, Fla.
“I walked out to warm-ups and said, ‘Well, let’s see”.

“Dallas does a nice job with their play action”. They lost star running back DeMarco Murray to the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency, but everyone still had faith because they have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. “For me, it’s about going out and being yourself and really just being the quarterback for this team”, Romo told reporters.
