Tony Romo returned to action for the first time in nine weeks to guide the Dallas Cowboys to a 24-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins, ending the club’s seven-game losing streak.

The Dolphins come in after a win against the Eagles to snap a two game losing streak and they will try and keep things going against the Cowboys. However, to have a legitimate chance at winning the division and thus earning a playoff birth, more than likely, Dallas will have to win out.
Romo completed 18 of his 28 pass attempts for 227 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in wet conditions as the stadium was doused in periodic downpours throughout the first half. According to star wide receiver Dez Bryant, the inspirational words moved him so much that he “got chills”, which is certainly high praise from one of Dallas’ star players.
“We wanted to come out here; we finally got a home game”, cornerback Brent Grimes said.
Still, as important as the victory was for the Cowboys – who failed to score a touchdown in three of the seven games without Romo – it was just one game. But Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill was spotty, too.

“I told the guys that it was really inspirational watching them”, Romo said. “That’s why it’s the NFL”.
The Cowboys’ second drive ended with an interception after a 15-play, 68-yard march to the Dolphins’ 12.
“I love that kid”, Romo said.
“I didn’t envision after my two-month layoff coming back with a left-hander”, he said.
As expected, Romo sparked a team tied for next to last in the National Football League in points.
The Cowboys (3-7) are 3-0 this season when Romo starts.
Coach Jason Garrett said Turbin went to meetings and practice immediately after arriving and stayed late Wednesday studying the offense. “He has been for a long time”.
From there, Dallas got a defensive stop and closed out the game on the power running of McFadden.
Can the Cowboys run the table? “We didn’t do a good enough job in that area”. “It’s pretty much as simple as it gets”.
The Dolphins had the ball for only 21 minutes and went 1 for 10 on third-down conversions.
“I put this loss on me”, Taylor said.
It raises questions about the Dolphins confidence on offense and converting third and fourth downs, but there was no second-guessing Campbell in the locker room. But every NFC East team has a tough road ahead.
The game matched a pair of last-place teams and looked it at times.
Bryant scored on a second-and-goal from the 16 when he found a gap between Dolphins defenders.
What a fitting reminder that the Dallas Cowboys’ season has been under water without the star quarterback. In those games, Hasselbeck completed 63.2 percent of his passes for 495 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
And then there was Romo, who was so desperate to win, HE WAS THROWING PASSES WITH HIS LEFT HAND.
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said on his radio show that the team was being cautious with McFadden, whose career as the fourth overall pick by Oakland in 2008 was derailed by a litany of injuries.

After the Cowboys released Christine Michael this week, the only backups were undrafted rookies Rod Smith and Trey Williams, with their two combined carries this season. “We just gave up a few big plays and it just didn’t go our way”.
