A native of Columbus, Indiana, 44-year-old Stewart has put together what is sure to be a Hall of Fame career in NASCAR’s top level Sprint Cup Series since transitioning from IndyCar racing in the late 1990’s.

He won an IndyCar championship in 1997 and Sprint Cup titles in 2002, 2005 and 2011.

Stewart’s stats show that between his rookie 1999 season and 2013 he won at least one Sprint Cup race every season – a span of 15 years.

They think that because they don’t really know Stewart, and don’t understand that his decision has very little to do with the personal problems that have plagued his last three years. SHR also field cars for reigning series champion Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch and Danica Patrick.

Tony Stewart picked his way through the crowd surrounding a red carpet at Chicagoland Speedway to make his way to the pre-race driver meeting.

The last three years have been especially tough for Stewart.

His enjoyment has never been found at a NASCAR race, and this spiral he’s been stuck in the last three seasons did nothing more than confirm to Stewart that it’s time to go do something else.

Ward had gotten out of his auto after it spun out and was walking toward Stewart’s approaching auto when he was hit by the NASCAR veteran’s vehicle.

Hurd wrote that the Syracuse airport is 56 miles from Utica and that the additional travel for a few witnesses didn’t warrant a transfer from the location initially chosen by the Ward family when it first filed suit in August in its home county (Lewis County) in state court. “It’s not been business as usual by any means, and this is going to be a healing process for me”, he said, “So it makes you think about a lot of things other than driving race cars”. A grand jury cleared Stewart of any wrongdoing.
