Top 10 reactions to Steve Harvey’s cringe-worthy Miss Universe mistake
A seven-second behind-the-scenes video shows Harvey immediately after naming the wrong victor – Miss Colombia instead of Miss Philippines – pointing to a cue card and talking to an unidentified person saying: “The teleprompter said Miss Universe – Colombia”.

On Sunday night, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was crowned the victor of this year’s Miss Universe competition.
He added: ‘I would recommend that they go have a lovely ceremony, which is good for the brand and good for Miss Universe, and do a co-winner’. Screen capture c/o Facebook.
Speaking after the ceremony, Sarah commented: “I really couldn’t believe it, I was so upset”. For me, Miss Colombia is Miss Universe and will continue to be Miss Universe.
Considering the genuine grace and humility that Gutierrez has already displayed throughout this entire affair, it’s likely that Miss Colombia would probably forgive Harvey for that, too. “It was a letdown when the host said he made a mistake”.
Knowing that he would take enormous heat for the moment, Steve Harvey apologized again on Twitter mere minutes after it happened with several tweets to viewers.
Meanwhile, the real victor, Pia Wurtzbach has called her winning “very non-traditional crowning moment” and said that the awkward incident is “Very 2015!”
While announcing the results, Wurtzbach was announced as the first runner-up and Miss Colombia Ariadna Guiterrez was named as the victor. “Let me just take control of this”.
Former Miss Universe Paulina Vega, center, removes the crown from Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, left, before giving it to Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, right, at the Miss Universe pageant on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, in Las Vegas.
But he corrected with flair, later posting “Adriana Gutierrez, you are still our Miss Universe!”.
We can’t even imagine how poor Miss Colombia must feel!
