Top Gear finds its feet after a slow launch from the lights

It seems like third time was the charm for Top Gear as many viewers called its most recent episode “the best one yet”.

The new series has faced a barrage of criticism since its Chris Evans fronted revamp, but to us Top Gear is just as entertaining as it ever was.

Chris Harris made his debut on Top Gear this week, absolutely killing it with a couple V12 Ferraris and likely a few extra sets of tires. The show was launched two weeks back with 4.3 million viewers before dipping for its second episode last week.

Channel 5’s Big Brother reached over a million viewers last night with Love Island attracting 800,000.

The show’s ratings are expected to increase when catch-up figures from fans watching online are taken into account but will likely still fall behind the numbers Clarkson and his co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May pulled in.

BBC executives are resigned to the fact that the audience is unlikely to improve over the three remaining episodes in the series.

Carol added that she would rather watch repeats of the original “Top Gear” than the new series. The show might have a new name, but it promises to be the much the same as CHoC, even including ace cameraman Neil Carey.

Evans’ screen time on the first episode was approximately 49 minutes and by the third, it had dropped to 29 minutes and co-anchor Matt Le Blanc was handed the duties of hosting the studio.

“Best episode yet. It’s getting better and better”.

The new segment will only feature Harris (guests are not excluded, mind you), and comes to the request of his die-hard fans, which have complained about his lack of videos once he was drafted to join the Top Gear team. “It’s coming together as what it represents CARS!”
