According to a Mirror source, Ball’s chemistry and performance in screen tests with Chris Evans revealed that she “looks like a certainty”.

The Top Gear casting news is just getting more and more frustrating now as Chris Evans has confirmed that Zoe Ball is not going to be his co-host on the BBC motoring show.
“She was sensible down on the race monitor and she or he’s passionate about automobiles”.
The mum of two is a regular face on the BBC, and if she gets the gig, will be adding to her long history with the company, which includes Live & Kicking, Top Of The Pops, and Strictly Come Dancing’s It Takes Two. “Things immediately clicked into place and there was a lightbulb moment among producers”.
‘The chemistry between Zoe and Chris is ideal’.
Reports that the star, who has covered for Evans’ Radio 2 breakfast show on a number of occasions, would be joining the Top Gear team emerged over the weekend.
Evans initially said that he would “definitely 100%” have a female co-host, after it was announced that he would take over the show following the departure of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
Motorbike racer Guy Martin, actor Philip Glenister and presenter Dermot O’Leary have also been tipped to join Top Gear as a third presenter.
Top Gear was originally expected to return to screens next March but a BBC spokesman said: “We are not working to a timeframe”.

Meanwhile Clarkson, Hammond and May have been signed up by Amazon Prime to create a rival show with a reported £160million budget.
