Top Google search of 2015 is Lamar Odom

The 72-year-old, who doubled up as the nation’s answer to cupid when she presented Blind Date, was the most searched person on Google this year.

The second largest search topic that Google revealed numbers for was the Oscars, with queries on winners, nominees and attendees topping lists which hit in excess of 400 million searches.

“Jurassic World” was one of three films in the top 10 list; “Furious 7” and Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper” were the other two.

Among individuals, Odom was followed by the martial-arts star Ronda Rousey and by Caitlyn Jenner, the transgender Olympian formerly known as Bruce Jenner.

Popular search engine Google today released its overview of trends in search by people across the world, and these tragedies have taken a hold on the collective spirit of the Internet as we look at the year through the eyes of Google.

Google released more than 40 categories for its year-end lists, ranging from the top trending searches to the top trending people, “How-to” searches and travel questions.

As you might guess, the number 1 topic around the world this year were the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

A lot of people searched “What is Ashley Madison?” after the infidelity site was hacked but the top spot went to “What is 0 divided by 0?”

It was former basketball player and Keeping up with the Kardashians fixture Lamar Odom, who was found unconscious in a brothel in October.

The Mets captivated the heart of the city on their surprising World Series run, ranking as the top trending news and event of 2015.

Google’s list of top-trending terms refers to searches that drove the highest level of traffic over a sustained period of time during 2015.

More than anything, the report indicates just how long and arduous Odom’s intensive rehabilitation likely will be, with a full recovery not guaranteed.
