Top GOP senator disavows Trump’s attacks on federal judge

The developer and reality television host has enthused supporters and enraged many others with his calls for building the wall on the US-Mexican border and alleging that Mexico sends the United States its criminals. “And so, he clearly says and does things I don’t agree with, and I’ve had to speak up on time to time when that has occurred, and I’ll continue to do that if it’s necessary”.

Donald Trump is intensifying his attacks on the federal judge presiding over fraud lawsuits against Trump University.

The Republican presidential candidate also told the Wall Street Journal that he believes that Curiel is biased because he is the former colleague of an attorney representing one of the plaintiffs in a Trump University case. The media shouldn’t shy away from pointing that out, and the people supporting Trump should know that’s exactly what they’re supporting. But it showed that even Donald J. Trump can be worn down by a journalist who never gives up.

I think it’s futile to suggest that Curiel’s Mexican heritage is a reason for the judge’s treatment of Trump.

Curiel, who has delayed the start of the Trump trial until after the election in November, was born in IN to Mexican immigrant parents.

Mark Halperin has a clarification on racism for you: Attacking a judge’s ethnicity is not racism because “Mexican is not a race”.

Speaking with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “The Lead”, Trump repeatedly referenced his plans to build a wall between the US and Mexico and renegotiate trade agreements between the two countries.

Mr. Trump said “thousands and thousands” of people have given the course great reviews and that he should have won the case on summary judgment. “Mexico’s fine”, Trump continued.

“I’ve had bad rulings (by Curiel), I’ve been treated very unfairly”. This is some dirty, dirty business from Donald Trump.

Trump has been on the offensive against Curiel, arguing at campaign rallies that he doesn’t get fair treatment from the judge because Curiel is of Mexican descent and Trump has proposed hardline immigration policies. Barbara Boxer that reviewed and recommended applicants for federal judges, which reviewed Curiel in 2011.

“We ought to be trying to unify, he ought to be trying to unify the party behind him”, McConnell said of Trump. But as Gonzales himself acknowledges, Curiel made that decision in 2014, long before anyone had an inkling that Trump and Clinton would become presidential adversaries.

Moreover, while Trump is free to say anything he wants about the judge, the lawyers in the case are bound by the professional rules of conduct and could be sanctioned for making such charges about Curiel without actual evidence of bias.

When Tapper brought up that Clinton had criticized his comments, Trump called her “a stiff”.
