Multiple officers from the Flowood Police Department, Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, Reservoir Police, Rankin County Sheriff’s Department and Mississippi Department of Homeland Security participated in the annual event.
The torch run started on May 9th and continues through May 20th to end up at the Opening Ceremonies for the State Games in Springfield.
The friendship between Special Olympics and law enforcement is something that both organizations would like to carry forward.
Law enforcement agencies joined together to help pass the Special Olympics torch in Pueblo on Wednesday.
“Gives them the opportunity to really shine at all of these events”.
