Tornado damages structures in Litchfield, Watkins
Tornadoes have struck towns in central Minnesota, damaging homes and knocking out power.

No genuine wounds in either town – authorities reported.
Storms hit the state Tuesday, flooding roads and leaving several thousand homes and businesses without power in Jackson County. It had a maximum wind speed of 115 miles per hour.
“We’re evacuating that and relocating the residents of the nursing home”, Brian Cruze said.
Officials have activated the Michigan Emergency Operations Center and provided assistance on the ground and in the air and water.
“I’m numb. I’m numb”.
“I feel blessed we have minor damage to our roof”, she said.
Residents of Litchfield said they were shocked by the storm.
The tornadoes knocked over trees and damaged up to 20-homes in meeker county. Keith Johnson, the mayor of Litchfield about 70 miles west of Minneapolis, said there was serious damage, but that no one was injured. Johnson also said it was the worst tornado damage he has ever seen in Litchfield.
Diane Kelbing tells KARE-TV she and her husband heard the tornado warning siren, left their home and raced to their mobile home park shelter.
“I got up the stairs and my legs were just shaking, but I got out and I’m just fine”, said Tschumperlin.”I found out my heart can beat pretty good”. The American Red Cross is helping approximately 50 people in Watkins.
Later, reports of another tornado in progress near Watkins were also relayed by the National Weather Service. The release did not say how the people became trapped on the island.
Walker’s declaration included the counties of Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, Sawyer and Washburn.
Walker says he is instructing the Wisconsin National Guard and all state agencies to help those affected by the storms.
The weather service listed as much as 7.18 inches of rainfall in one location.
The National Weather Service is forecasting another round of thunderstorms Wednesday for northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.
The heavy rains caused flooding that closed roads in Aitkin and Crow Wing counties and western Wisconsin.

There were also reports of water over bridges in Benton County, which is north of St. Cloud.
