The weather service also confirms a tornado damaged eight homes in Putnam County.
Craig Staley, the deputy director of the county’s Emergency Management Agency, said there were reports of damage but no immediate reports of injuries.
Spokesman Jay Carey said Wednesday night that damage and downed power lines were reported in Defiance, Henry, Paulding and Van Wert counties. A mobile home park north of Defiance was damaged.
McCoy said the storm “made an abrupt turn” in Monroe, Indiana, veering northeast and into this county. After light rain this morning, the National Weather Service is calling for an 80 percent chance of severe thunderstorms this afternoon.
McCoy says roofs were blown off homes and barns were destroyed.
At least 1 additional tornado confirmation, from Allen County, is expected when the second storm survey team releases its findings. The NWS report says an EF-3 was on the ground for 10 minutes, covering almost five miles. They produced damage along a 10-mile-long path.

Between the 6 confirmed tornadoes and the 1 preliminary rating given to the Allen County storm, our current tornado count across northeast IN and northwest OH stands at 7.
