Toronto council votes to cracks down on Uber
In a relief to the app-based cab service provider, the High Court said that since other two cab services Apra Cabs India Pvt. Ltd. and Serendipity Infolabs Pvt. The reason for this difference may lie in the fact that after each Uber ride, drivers and passengers have the opportunity to “rate” each other, based on whatever criteria they choose – courtesy, promptness, conversational skills, knowledge of “Star Trek” trivia, yodeling ability, etc.

Uber was banned in New Delhi last December after one of its drivers was accused of rape.
“The Tallahassee City Commission’s embrace of innovation and consumer choice is a win for the community”, said Uber spokesman Bill Gibbons.
Uber has experienced similar protests across the world.
The impetus for these actions is the same everywhere: loss of wages and jobs by taxi drivers previously protected from competition. According to the City’s JP Smith, more than 200 Uber vehicles have been impounded since January. Taxi drivers, for their part, have typically shelled out vast amounts for one of the limited supply of official taxi plates, an expense Uber drivers are spared. “It, however, has been asked to appear before the competent transport authority to pursue the application”.
“I think it’s too much, it shouldn’t be 80 bucks to go to Newark from here”, he said, but added that he won’t use Uber anymore because “they scared me in Miami”. Indeed, insurance companies insist that as soon as a driver turns on the app, they are operating their private cars as commercial vehicles.
Uber drivers have caused headaches in Tallahassee and across Florida for bucking local taxi ordinances.
There’ve been several cases of intimidation recently in which Uber drivers have been targeted along major routes.
Indeed, Uber’s popularity has fixed reform of the taxi industry on the policy radar in Victoria (due to report this month), NSW, Western Australia, South Australia, and the ACT. He claims Uber drivers operate on a chartered license in Johannesburg, which he says is more hard to obtain than a metered taxi permit and falls under the public operating license. To aid in the study, the service of app-based cars will be suspended for a year. The biggest problem is that operators in the taxi industry have invested in the existing system which has been mandated by government.
“To be honest with you I think we have too many because this town isn’t big enough for 5 or 6 cab companies”.
Mexico City is home to 140,000 registered taxis, and drivers have previously protested in the streets against Uber and called for it to be banned. In addition, by early 2016, the company will start collecting a tourist tax from its users on behalf of Paris authorities, making the French capital the second city in Europe after Amsterdam to offer that service.
It has asked the state transport department to issue the company a fresh radio taxi license.
