The child is described as a 3-month-old, white boy with short dark hair.

The saga began when the boy’s parents visited the flea market with their baby in the family’s 1997 grey four-door Camry.

“We are appealing to anyone who sees the (stolen Camry) to please (call) police immediately”, a police statement said. When he came back out, he saw the auto being driven away. He gave chase on foot but couldn’t stop the theft, Brister said.

Police broadcast an Amber Alert containing information about the child’s abduction, which appeared on television screens.

Most major police outlets in Canada say there is no specific criminal law that prohibits adults from leaving children alone in cars, but there are applicable clauses under traffic acts and child welfare rules. Investigators were trying to determine whether the suspect even knew there was a baby in the back seat or whether he may have known the owner of the stolen auto. It was last seen at Albion and highway 27.

Toronto police said Monday that the father was not negligent because he was always within a few feet of the vehicle.

We may feel like we’re only on the tip of the iceberg of 2016, but as we all know-time flies!…

Toronto police have recovered a three-month old baby, after it was taken when the auto it was strapped into was stolen this afternoon.

Police questioned Yosufi about why the child was left alone in the first place, saying they needed to corroborate the dad’s story with evidence from the area near Dr. Flea’s flea market, at Albion Road and Highway 27.
