Tottenham boss Pochettino: Mega spenders are DESPERATE!

When we last heard from Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino at the end of last season, he could barely contain his rage following Spurs’ embarrassing defeat to Newcastle, which capped what was nearly a flawless season with yet another humiliating St. Totteringham’s Day.

But the Argentinian isn’t one to rest on his laurels and he will be determined to make a fast start to the season – Tottenham have traditionally been slow to get out of the blocks (invariably because Daniel Levy waited until the last day of the window to do any business). He commented that while “there has not been too much opportunity to see them play together in the friendly games” it is possible that the two “can play together”. I wanted to kill all of them.

“I feel very disappointed with his decision”. One of the positives gained from last season according to Pochettino was the toughening of the mental state which helped them achieve their highest ever finish.

Kick off is at 15:00 BST on Saturday 13 August.

The match will take place at Goodison Park in Liverpool. Find all the info you need about the ground: here.

It’s last season’s underachievers vs overachievers, as Everton’s 11th-placed finish saw them bring in Ronald Koeman after giving Roberto Martinez the chop. “But if we have the possibility to sign a player that can improve us, we are very open”.

No – the match will not live on the television in the UK. Phil Jagielka should be fit however.

“Because I think we are, in terms of physical state, 70% of what we need to be”.

Wow. I mean, it’s just soccer. Speaking about Janssen Pochettino added that “he is still very young” but is a “different player to Harry Kane so it’s very good to have him in the squad”.

Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino says he might have become the first manager to begin the pre-season by admonishing his players. “We need to improve”. That is very, very important.

Everton have not beaten Spurs in their last seven Premier League meetings (D4 L3). “But our team today are more mature than last season”.

Spurs signing Vincent Janssen topped the Dutch Eredivisie goalscoring charts in 2015-16 with 27 goals.
