Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino praises Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski after the Pole nearly denied his side victory.

Spurs have won all four Premier League meetings at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham’s players raced back to the halfway line, with 20 minutes to find a victor – and they got it in the 77th minute. It was maybe hard from the beginning when we arrived but I am very happy for him.

“There are positives to take from Sunday’s game, and we will take that to the Emirates on Wednesday”.

Tottenham’s response was emphatic as they laid seige to the visitors’ goal.

Ander Herrera’s victor for Manchester United against Arsenal at Old Trafford has given Spurs a crucial three-point cushion against their hated rivals.

This new-found team spirit has helped Mauricio Pochettino and co.to second in the top flight – and only two points behind leaders Leicester City. “Our mentality is always the next game”, Pochettino said.

“Spurs are a club we’ve not beaten since we’ve been in the Premier League. We are in a position in the table where the motivation is big”.

The former England Under-21 global also admitted that Pochettino was not particularly pleased with his team’s first-half peformance and that the Argentinian let his feelings be known during the break.

Spurs came from behind to record an impressive victory over the Welsh side, and they have kept the pressure on Leicester City.

Tottenham began the second 45 minutes as they ended the first and Eriksen tried his luck again only for Fabianski to stop him once more and he then prevented Harry Kane’s 30-yard drive from finding its target.

“They were on holiday and I called him to come to my office”. Their squad is more than good enough for them to steer clear of the bottom three, and they’ll surely be fighting tooth and nail for the remainder of the campaign to ensure they do so. “But Gylfi is better in that number 10 role, as a central attacking midfielder”.

Much noise has been made about the brilliance of Tottenham Hotspur so far and how they could go on to win the whole title.

Meanwhile, the result leaves Swansea 16th, just three points above the drop zone.

This game may have been third-choice behind the League Cup final and the Marcus Rashford show, but within the opening five minutes both teams had made excellent chances that set the tone for a pulsating and often frantic spectacle.
