“But we have out-run every team we have played and will be looking to do so again”. Obviously Liverpool, with a new manager, will be up for it. But we know what we have to do.

“It’s probably a good thing nobody is talking about the Champions League”, he said.

“In the first couple of games after a managerial appointment everybody tries to impress so they will probably have that little 5% extra than usual”, he said. “We’ve had a few draws where we should have won as well, but we are playing well and doing the right things”.

Adam Lallana, Danny Ings, Nathaniel Clyne, Emre Can and Adam Bogdan have rejoined the squad following worldwide duty and will feature in Tuesday afternoon’s training session, their first under new boss Klopp.

Tottenham have not lost a Premier League match since the opening day, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side happy to “stay under the radar” in the race for a top-four finish. We have out-run every team we have played and will be looking to do so again.

Kane saw his shot rebound off the back of Lithuania goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis in a 3-0 victory for England on Monday evening, but now he will turn his attention back to domestic matters as he attempts to add to the single strike he has scored for Tottenham so far this season.

The 22-year-old striker is struggling to recapture the form he showed last season but was confident Spurs’ superior fitness can get them the three points despite having lost their last five Premier League games to the Merseyside club.

“Hopefully we can perform well again and get another three points”. “But I am focused on Tottenham and what we have to do”. I was unlucky not to score officially.
