Considering some of the bargains Tottenham have managed to secure so far this summer, it is clear they will not be held to ransom.

You might have thought that the North London side would have learnt that the curtailment of a precocious attacking talent turns out to be destructive for both the player and their own club.

Skilful, quick and with a never-say-die attitude, it’s easy to see why Pochettino is interested.

He may not have the experience of others – only 62 appearances in Ligue 1 – but his attitude has impressed, with his displays forcing former-Marseille-boss Michel to start the 21-year-old.

It is also understood that the Frenchman is set to travel to London and complete his medical this week.

Sources in France claim Marseille want to replace Spurs-bound N’Koudou with N’Jie, who only moved to the Premier League club for £8.3million from Lyon last summer, although the Daily Telegraph claim neither deal is dependent on the other one.

The French striker is wanted by Olympique Marseille as a potential replacement for Georges-Kévin N’Koudou, who is joining Spurs. The winger was born in Versailles and he will be hoping to make an impact at Spurs after impressing at Marseille.

“N’Koudou fits the profile of Tottenham’s young, hungry squad, and the Bielsa link is also interesting”. At that point he will become the new Spurs arrival of the transfer window after Kenyan enforcer Victor Wanyama and Eredivisie top scorer Vincent Janssen.
