Tottenham’s Harry Kane faces two months out with ankle injury
Tottenham Hotspur declined to put a time frame on Harry Kane’s ankle injury on Tuesday amid fears that the England striker could be out for two months.

“We have another striker in Vincent, who can do the same”.
Pochettino praised the England youth worldwide, a left-footed attacking midfielder, who he says reminds him of Barcelona and Argentina great Messi.
“I was disappointed with him, but I was also disappointed with the referee, because it was a free kick on the edge of the box and he doesn’t give it, and Adnan shouldn’t have spoke back to the referee”, he said.
“Vincent arrives in a good moment – he’s ready to compete”, added Pochettino.
Eric Dier will play in defence against Sunderland and the Tottenham fans reacted with mixed thoughts on Twitter. This enforced break might actually be a boon for the player, for it will help him refocus his energies. “We have a good mix between experienced players and young talented players, but the only way to know [how strong our squad is] is to see at the end of the season”.
The striker scored the only goal in the win, but it could come at the cost of two months on the sidelines.
Pochettino is preparing his side for the visit of Gillingham in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, before travelling to Middlesbrough on Saturday for the Premier League tie.
“It’s very important because it’s about the team and teamwork and always I think it’s important that they share the responsibility in front of goal”.
Tottenham team manager Mauricio Pochettino sought patience when Kane left White Hart Lane on crutches and wearing a protective boot on his right foot. “We will continue to assess him every day but don’t want to put a timeframe on it”. “Today it’s impossible to see the times for recovery”.
Pochettino says “there are different rumors, we can not guess whether it’s eight weeks, 10, four, one”.
“Maybe he has some problem with his ligaments but today it is hard to assess”.

Centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers, midfielder Harry Winks and talented winger Marcus Edwards, all Spurs academy products, could be given chances to impress, along with Kieran Trippier, Joshua Onomah and Tom Carroll.
