Today it’s specifically being revealed that touch panel suppliers are stepping up their production.

Apple is scheduled to launch the iPhone 6s in September this year and has already commenced its initial production run. The report claims that Apple’s supply chain partners started shipping Force Touch panels in limited quantities in June before ramping up production of the pressure-sensitive modules in July.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are both expected to come with support for Force Touch gestures, a brand new way of interacting with a device that was first seen in the Apple Watch, Retina MacBook and select MacBook Pro models.
The sources cited also reportedly suggested shipments were expected to reach 36-40 million in Q3 and 50 million in Q4. TPK recently noted it was heading into mass production for Force Touch technology in July. While TPK did not divulge whom the panels would be supplied to, it is presumed that the likely customer is Apple. The company added its revenues are expected to increase 50% on quarter in the third quarter.
The Force Touch modules are an existing feature on Apple’s Mac Books and Apple Watch. The new iPhone will feature a 4.7-inch screen and will be powered by an A9 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The Force Touch pressure-sensitive technology will allow the new iPhone to differentiate between a light tap and a hard press to complete different actions.

The smartphones are also rumored to have a 12MP primary camera and will stick to the design sensibilities of the previous-gen versions.
