Republican presidential candidate John Kasich predicted Friday that the GOP convention in Cleveland will be brokered, with no clear victor from the caucus and primary season.

The most recent Quinnipiac University poll of Florida Republicans had Trump leading the local senator 44% to 28%. “I am going to be the nominee”, said Kasich.

Ohio Governor John Kasich, who is running on the Republican ticket stopped in several locations across the state today.

Kasich ran a close second in Vermonts primary on Super Tuesday, finishing less than 1,500 votes behind Trump, who won in seven states. “As you all know, I don’t make predictions, but I’m going to make a prediction: I’m going to win OH”, he said. ‘After I win OH, I have to win 68 percent of the remaining delegates, Marco’s gotta win like 64 [percent] and Ted is somewhere around 59 or 60 [percent] – it’s unlikely’.

“When that happens, then people will begin to see more of who I am and what my message is and what our team is all about”, Kasich said, “and then we’ll be able to compete in many other states”.

When including voters that are leaning toward a candidate, Kasich is actually tied with Carson at just 8 percent support.

Kasich’s strategy from Day One was to demonstrate strength across the Midwest, especially in the industrial upper Midwest. “I just don’t want to go and talk about the size of his hands or what kind of a tan he has”.

Kasich said he believes Detroit’s mayor has been put in charge of Detroit schools. In defense of this, he claimed reasons of morality, suggesting that compassion should triumph over ideological purity, saying that “When I get to the Pearly Gates, I’m going to have an answer for what I’ve done for the poor”.

Kasich defeated an incumbent Democrat in 1978 to become the youngest person elected to the Ohio Senate, at age 26.

“If the voters select him as our nominee, we should honor that”, said Hamilton County GOP Chairman Alex Triantafilou. “He’s very troubled about the direction of the country and you know, he had some nice things to say and I appreciate it very much”.

Schwarzenegger, the former California governor and star of The Terminator will campaign tomorrow for Kasich, who has yet to win any statewide nominating contest.

“Right now, I think they ought to vote for me”, he said, before adding that he intends to spend most his time campaigning in OH and not the Sunshine State.
