To showcase the breadth of its flagship off-roader, Toyota brought two of them to the 2015 SEMA Show from opposite sides of the globe.

All of the SEMA Edition TRD concepts feature special edition Silver Pearl paint on the exterior and custom TRD embroidery inside. In addition, all but the Land Cruiser sport a front chin spoiler, aero-inspired rocker panels and rear-end diffuser treatment. It rides on 285/55/20 tires and TRD 20×10-inch performance wheels front and rear.

Outside, the TRD Highlander features 10-inch bronze TRD performance wheels, and a slightly lowered ride height of 1 inch in the front and 1.5 inches in the back.

SEMA Edition TRD Corolla lives upto its sporty image with TRD high powered engine mated to a six speed manual while performance enhancers include TRD custom free flow single exhaust system.

Additionally, the TRD Corolla features 19-inch TRD performance wheels, and has a ride height of 1 inch lower in front and 1.5 inches lower in back.

Apart from the gargantuan Tundrasine, which is the required piece of extravaganza from every automaker in SEMA, Toyota also had five of its production vehicles on display. So, for SEMA this year, Toyota let its performance arm TRD loose on the LandCruiser… well, it let them a little bit loose on the thing. Inside, the Highlander received what Toyota says is “the most significant interior upgrade” of any of the TRD cars, as it’s lined from stem to stern in black leather with red accent stitching. “It is based on a redesigned 2016 model with ride height raised by 2” offering better ground clearance while TRD skid plate protects the car’s underbody.

“We think our SEMA Edition TRD vehicles will surprise many”, said Steve Appelbaum, National Engagement Marketing Manager, Toyota Motor Sales, United States of America “These concepts are hot-dare we say sexy-vehicles that are equal parts show and go”. Nissan has put a bigger emphasis on developing NISMO products while Hyundai recently announced its N performance sub-brand.
