The Toyota Tacoma is definitely one old truck although it was given some upgrades now and then and yet, the Toyota Tacoma still manage to beat new truck models like the Chevrolet Colorado.

For starters, the sheet metal is changed, with the creases and beltline showing that Toyota is approaching the 2016 Tacoma in more high-lift ground clearance.

The next-gen Toyota Tacoma is running through every obstacle to make it into the showrooms later next week. The new steel is both lighter and stiffer.

The new Tacoma, getting its first redesign in 10 years, arrives in an increasingly competitive midsize pickups segment, in which General Motors’ 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is returning after a two-year hiatus.

The previous version of the Tacoma came in 2005 and that was the eighth generation. The mid-size trucks now start with a price range of $23,000. The grading includes SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road and the range-topping Limited edition.

In detail, the Tacoma will be powered by a more refined 3.5L V6 engine that is tuned to save as much fuel as possible.

Both engines will be integrated to a six-speed automatic transmission with electronic shift delivering quick and easy shifting. Toyota has added optional manual transmission with six speeds.

All models feature the standard six-speaker audio system by Toyota, with the Limited trim having the JBL audio as an option.
