Trackmania Turbo is having an open beta this weekend

Ubisoft has announced that owners of Xbox One and PS4 will be able to test the game previews, as part of an open beta which will be available from Friday, March 18 from 14 hours till 21 March Monday at 14 hours also. The title’s been in closed beta for a few weeks now, and is only a week away from release, so you can probably consider this a final attempt by Ubisoft to drum up some hype for the game.

To participate in the TrackMania Turbo Open Beta, players can connect starting March 18 at 6 am PDT to their console’s digital store to download it.

Trackmania Turbo, originally scheduled to come out previous year, was delayed in October for developer Nadeo to give it a little extra polish and love, but it’s finally arriving.

In Trackmania Turbo players’ skills are challenged in 200 head-spinning tracks divided into four environments, each one with its own gameplay style. The classic trackbuilder from previous iterations will return which allows players to build and create their own tracks for others to play. They can also add variety to their experience by generating random tracks.

TrackMania Turbo is the latest entry in the franchise, and another rare appearance of the series on console, with most of the previous games sticking to a lone PC release with the occasional excursion onto Wii or 3DS.
