Tracy Morgan Joined by ’30 Rock’ Co-Stars in ‘SNL’ Return: ‘I’m Back’

Tracy Morgan says his “Saturday Night Live” return felt really good after his horrific vehicle accident the previous year.

The star was then joined by cast members from 30 Rock, a comedy series about the creation of a live comedy show.

In one sketch Morgan was reunited with his 30 Rock co-stars Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski and Jack McBrayer. They congregate near ponds.

The 2014 vehicle crash that Morgan was involved in left the comedian in a coma for over a week, while his friend and collaborator James McNair was killed.

Away from Morgan’s “30 Rock” co-stars, there was another big name guest who appeared on Saturday night’s episode.

Baldwin took the stage as Jim Webb in a parody of the Democratic debate that also featured Kate McKinnon’s manic Hillary Clinton, and Larry David doing a Bernie Sanders impression that had to leave Lorne Michaels salivating.

But these fears were put to rest as Morgan confidently made his way through his return to the show that put him on the map, where he had not appeared since a cameo in the 2011 Christmas special.

“I’m back!” he said, drawing a roaring applause from the audience. “I might actually be a few points higher now” This performance is the first fully extensive television performance of Morgan after 16 months. But Morgan quickly answered the question on everyone’s mind- did retain 100% of his mental capacity after all of the injuries he sustained.

“It was magical. It was electric, the love and support”, Morgan said about his well-received SNL showing. He opened up to TODAY’s Matt Lauer earlier this year about the aftermath of the accident and returning to comedy, telling the anchor he “can’t wait” to make his fans laugh again.

Not even sticking a scantily-clad Demi in the Astronaut Jones sketch (which hilariously is still playing the old theme from the ’90s) for a slapdash tie-in with The Martian could beat that real-life camel that hogged the camera and nearly stole the show from Brian Fellows.
