Her injuries occurred when her auto was hit by two trucks around 5am this morning.

CEO of the Marie Keating Foundation Liz Yeates said she was in her auto for more than four hours.

The traffic this morning was caused by a serious crash on the m50 which resulted in a woman being hospitalised and portions of the M50 being closed to cars.

“A lot of people were very stressed because they were missing meetings or couldn’t get to where they were due to be going, but there was nothing you could do – there was no way back”.

The incident has led to the closure of the motorway and there is no access to the M50 southbound from the N4 and traffic from the motorway is being diverted onto the N4.

In a separate incident, J17 (N11 interchange) of the M50 was also closed off by Gardaí for a time on Wednesday, following reports of loose cattle roaming the motorway.

“Traffic on M50 diverting at J7 & onto N4”.
