Train hits school bus in UP, 7 kids died
Bhadohi: 10 school students were killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi area on Monday morning as their van was hit by a train at an unmanned railway crossing, police said. At least seven or eight other kids were also grievously injured in the incident and have been taken to a hospital in Varanasi.

Normalcy at the accident site was restored at 8.15 AM.
Railway officials found in their preliminary inquiry that though cautioned about an approaching train, the van driver ignored it and drove ahead. However, the driver of the van allegedly neglected him and went through, causing the van to hit with the Varanasi-Allahabad passenger train.
The relatives of those who died will get Rs 2 lakh each, while Rs 1 lakh will be given in case of grievous injury and Rs 20,000 in case of simple injury.
Report says India has a number of unmanned rail crossings, and such accidents are common.

In this year’s Railway Budget, the government announced an action plan to eliminate all 6,352 broad-gauge unmanned level crossings in three to four years.
