Trained rebels reportedly hand over weapons to Al Qaeda

Another previous batch of rebels trained by the US had previously been hit hard by the rival Nusra Front, also known as Jabhat al-Nusra. This suggested he was not working with al-Qaida’s affiliate, though he did not specifically say so.

The statement added that the newly trained Syrian rebels were successfully deployed inside Syria, but that they were not under the command of the coalition forces. He proposed giving Nusra a large number of his vehicles and weapons in return for protection and freedom. “And he also gave a large amount of weapons to Jabhat al-Nusra”, al-Maqdisi tweeted as quoted by The Telegraph.

Another alleged al Nusra member, Abu Khattab al-Maqdisi, claimed on Twitter that the commander of Division 30 Anas Ibrahim Obaid said he tricked the U.S.-led coalition in order to obtain weapons.

On Saturday the chief of staff of Division 30 resigned, citing on social media various problems such as “slowness in the implementation of the training program of the 30th brigade”.

In the statement, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad al-Dhaher complained of insufficient numbers of trainees and fighters, inadequate supplies, and even “a lack of accuracy and method in the selection of Division 30’s cadres”.

“So far, they have made no impact on the ground”, he said.

US Central Command said in a news release on Monday that about 70 graduates of the Syria Train and Equip programme had re-entered Syria with their weapons and equipment and were operating as New Syrian Forces alongside Syrian Kurds, Sunni Arabs and other anti-Isil forces. “He was planning to leave Division 30 with his group“. “In that area of northern Aleppo, it’s Islamists who have dominance, so to come in as a U.S.-backed force, you are at a disadvantage to start with”, he said. Last week, the Pentagon said one fighter from its first class of 54 graduates had been captured by “anti-Syrian forces”.

Finding rebels who have enough combat experience and would not divert their focus to fighting embattled Syrian President Bashar Assad has been one of the the main complications in the US’s recruitment efforts.

When it comes to ISIS, the situation is similar.

Still, USA officials acknowledge that they have limited ability to track the movements of the U.S.-trained fighters, who are not under American command and control, and their arms. “There is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist [fundamentalist Islam] principality in Eastern Syria (Hasaka and Der Zor), and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime”. He reportedly divulged the information about the defectors via his Twitter account. By remaining silent on these crimes of apocalyptic proportions, American taxpayers funding it all make themselves indirectly complicit.

But now, the White House sees an opportunity. Anything less will make Congress just as complicit as Obama and the globalist establishment in the tragedy now unfolding across the Middle East.
