“Our brother Robert, who became our brother Alexis, who became our sister Alexis, who became our brother Alexis, passed this morning September 11, at 12:32 am”, Richmond wrote.

They did not reveal the cause of death.

“She fiercely lived her reality in a world where it is risky to be a trans person – a world largely unready to accept differences among human beings, and where there is still the ugliness of violence and hostility towards people that we may not understand”. A representative for Arquette’s brother Richmond confirmed the news to People.

“Alexis was a brilliant artist and painter, a singer, an entertainer and an actor”, her brothers and sisters said.

Alexis Arquette comes from a family of actors, including Patricia Arquette and brother David Arquette who. according to the Facebook post, were both in the hospital when Alexis died. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have been in NY. “I would never want anyone to think that there’s some kind of cachet to my name”. Arquette’s film career included small roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Pulp Fiction (as the gunman who miraculously failed to shoot Vincent Vega and Jules at close range) and Threesome. Another bright light gone out far too soon. Arquette also performed in nightclubs and cabarets sometimes under the name Eva Destruction. “[Alexis] said, ‘It depends on how I’m dressed'”.

She also made appearances on reality TV, including in VH1’s “The Surreal Life”.

“Her career was cut short, not by her passing, but by her decision to live her truth and her life as a transgender woman”, the statement said. “She was a vanguard in the fight for understanding and acceptance for all trans people”. He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loved ones. Arquette documented her gender change in the 2007 film, “Alexis Arquette: She’s My Brother”. We came to discover the one truth – that love is everything.

The Arquettes have asked that in lieu of flowers or gifts, fans send donations to charities that support the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community in honour of Alexis. “We know we were the lucky ones”.
