Travelers Championship 2016: Leaderboard Scores, Prize-Money Payouts

Two other professionals have recorded 58s: Germany’s Stephan Jaeger on the Web.com Tour in this year’s Ellie Mae Clasic and Japan’s Ryo Ishikawa on the Japan Golf Tour at the 2010 The Crowns. “I played pretty well in Canada (RBC Canadian Open, 13th) but really struggled through the week at the PGA (Championships last week)”.

Furyk also accomplished something no golfer has ever done before. Three pars followed but the 2003 US Open victor rolled in a 24-foot putt on the 16th and parred his way home to seal his place in the history books.

“Usually not short on words, so that probably won’t happen”. “But the fact that I did it three years ago, you know, in the back of my mind I’ve got 11-under through 12; I’ve got six holes to play. I was in that position starting this morning”.

Knox, a native of Scotland, took the lead birdie putts on No. 13 and No. 14 has put him atop of the Travelers Championship leaderboard as the fourth round winds down.

Hours later, Russell Knox curled in a right-to-left 12-foot, 1-inch putt on the 18th hole for a round of 68, the Travelers Championship trophy and $1.18 million check on Sunday.

His win in China did not count towards qualification as he was not a European Tour member at the time and, while he is still on the outside looking in, his good form can only increase his wild card chances.

“I think I was better prepared this time for it because I had gone through it once before”, Furyk said.

It was an exciting finish after Jimenez birdied the last four holes for a 67 to match Durant at 19-under at the TPC Twin Cities course and then birdied the 18 hole in the playoff before Jimenez took the win with the eagle putt. It was as stress-free as you are going to get for such a low round: he hit 13 of 14 fairways, all 18 greens and had 24 putts. But if you do it again, then it’s like, okay, well now I can start believing in myself even more and be like, okay, I’ve beaten everyone over four days two times now. “There wasn’t a lot of people out there, not a lot of cameras, not a lot of media, and I joked with someone walking over to 10 or walking to 11, ‘What’s the big fuss about?'” Furyk joked. “And to do it in one season is pretty wonderful”. “I thought about it on the last tee to be honest”. “I consider this a hometown tournament for me”. But I mean, it’s his decision.

“He can pick whoever he wants. And then in both situations, I kind of hit a little lull in the middle of the second side”. If I’m number 10 he can quite happily pass on me and that’s just the way it is.

“I’m still getting a little emotional about it”, said Kelly, a 1989 University of Hartford graduate.

Patrick Reed: I loved seeing Reed rock his U.S. Olympic bag a week early at this tournament. It would be a huge honor.

Victorian Marc Leishman closed with a 4-under 66 to be the best placed Australian tied for ninth, still four shots behind the victor in an impressive week. “No, wait, 56.” Geiberger said from the airport in Minneapolis, where he was waiting to fly back to the desert after participating in pro-am activities at the PGA Tour Champions 3M Championships this week.
