Traveling for Thanksgiving? It could be an adventure
“For people traveling east, if they leave Tuesday morning they’ll be kind of running out ahead of it. In Lewistown or Bozeman for example, the snow probably won’t start there until the 1 p.m.to 3 p.m. timeframe”.

Snow levels could plunge down to the 1000 ft level mark while freezing rain and icy roads are expected in southeastern Washington and northern Oregon.
As the storm heads toward the western Nebraska Panhandle, snow amounts will decrease.
The good news? We should see ample sunshine starting Thanksgiving Day right through early next week as high pressure builds in.
Temperatures will dip into the teens Wednesday night, and the mercury on Thursday will sputter to about 23 degrees before falling into single digits, forecasters say. With lower snow levels, expect populated areas to be affected more than during previous storms this Fall.
As a cold Pacific storm continues to move toward the Sierra Nevada, the snow line will plunge and temperatures will become increasingly chilly.
The current computer model used by the weather service shows that Spokane could receive up to two inches of snow by dawn on Tuesday. It will be significantly colder and stay cold through the end of the week and into the weekend.
Snow accumulations look to be the highest across the southeast Wyoming mountains and adjacent plains, according to the NWS. “And then that will be switching to snow probably around 7 or 8 a.m., maybe a little bit later than that, and then we’ll see up to an inch of snow in the Boise Metro area”, Smith says.

After a long stretch of gorgeous, seasonably warm weather, it’s about to get much colder beginning today and there’s even a chance some snow will be around for Thanksgiving. By noon, showers will really pick up for most locations, with many spots receiving almost a half-inch of rain. Highs will drop from the 30s and lower 40s Tuesday to the 10s and lower 20s Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day. Winds could gust as high as 28 miles per hour.
