Trevor Siemian gets turn to start in Broncos QB competition
Coach Kubiak named a starting QB for the Broncos second preseason game vs. San Francisco.

Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian jokes with teammates during drills at the team’s NFL football training camp Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016 in Englewood, Colo. Paxton Lynch will play the entire fourth quarter. The decision makes sense.
Up first on Saturday night will be Trevor Siemian.
Sanchez has veteran savvy and experience, and isn’t shy about being a leader and commanding the huddle.
This appears to mean more than it was just Siemian’s turn in the rotation after Mark Sanchez started last week at Chicago.
Sanchez and Siemian are both expected to get about a quarter and a half of action against the 49ers Saturday.

Kubiak will not make his final decision as to who will start the Broncos’ regular-season opener September 8 in a Super Bowl 50 rematch against the Carolina Panthers until early next week – providing the game Saturday doesn’t further confuse him. If I sent one out there and one throws it four times and the other throws it 15.
Sure, the masses said, but let’s be real: Mark Sanchez is going to be the guy.
I could see that happening if Siemian has a solid game.
If the Broncos contend for a Super Bowl this year, it will be because the defense doesn’t miss a beat in Wade Phillips’ second year as defensive coordinator. “I just watch their decision-making process and those types of things”. “Yeah. Will I? I don’t know”, Kubiak said, smiling. They’re both (Sanchez and Siemian) becoming really good players.
Colin Kaepernick, who has not been throwing any passes in practice since Thursday because of tightness in his right shoulder, was on the practice field for mental reps and took three running-play snaps, handing off every time.

Defensive end Derek Wolfe needed assistance to leave the field on Wednesday after sustaining an ankle injury during the team’s joint practice session with the San Francisco 49ers. Granted, the 49ers didn’t crank up coach Chip Kelly’s warp-speed attack – they had told the Broncos they would not go to their hurry-up package in the practices – but the Broncos consistently forced turnovers and got to the 49ers quarterbacks in the pass rush. “Like I did in college, if I felt the pocket break down, then I wasn’t hesitant to run and try to make a play that way outside of the pocket”.
