Trevor Siemian may have already won starting job for Broncos

Siemian frequently checked down even when he didn’t necessarily have to, as he averaged just 5.4 yards per attempt when not under pressure.

It’s not surprising Lynch isn’t yet ready and Siemian is way ahead of him.

Case Keenum guided the Rams to their first two scores.

Siemian has already proved he better fits that mold.

Broncos Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager John Elway taking a similar approach with Paxton Lynch that Rams’ head coach Jeff Fisher has with Jared Goff, should actually come as little surprise. I need to see the other two kids play. Both Juwan Thompson and rookie Andy Janovich received high grades from PFF.

If the Broncos call passing plays on 65 percent of their snaps in the regular season as they have in the preseason, their offense will likely be in trouble. When Gurley is playing, Cunningham is the Rams’ pass-protection specialist and plays on special teams. Don’t take that the wrong way, the Broncos could still be a good team. There was a really nice strike from Siemian to Demaryius Thomas – who caught it with one hand. They were targeted 12 times (only eight were catchable) and finished with seven receptions combined for 108 yards. The Rams begin their first season in Los Angeles in two decades after relocating from St. Louis. The answer is probably no and it looks as if Lynch will have to make up ground on the depth chart to be on the field week one. The team can protect Siemian with a strong defense and running game.

Scenario No. 3 is beginning to look like a very real possibility. He was even being interfered by the Rams cornerback, so it makes the play even more impressive. He threw 12 passes against the Broncos before getting hurt, but he didn’t throw a TD and only completed a third of those passes. Tough as nails, explosive, and the playmaker we all have grown to love.

Siemian was the Broncos’ seventh round draft pick out of Northwestern. He didn’t play against Dallas and played only one series against Kansas City, but he made it count, with four carries for 20 yards and a touchdown. Those players being Shaquil Barrett(84.4), Dakoda Watson(84.4) and Von Miller(81.6). On third-and-7 from the Rams’ 17 early in the third quarter, Goff set up from the shotgun and took a sack from his blind side.

Ware missed training camp with a back issue that kept him out of five games in 2015, but he said he feels much better than he did during Denver’s 24-10 win over Carolina in the Super Bowl last February.

The Rams split the quarterback duties in much the same way they did in last week’s preseason victory over Kansas City, and with similar results.

Miller gave the fans and his teammates one of his usual post-sack dances. But it was reserve edge defender Dekoda Watson who stole the show, recording three sacks, a QB hurry, and an additional play in which he beat his man rushing the passer-all in just 14 pass rushes.

The dominance of the Broncos edge rushers carried over into the preseason. This unit is just fun to watch. They do, however, own the Titans’ sixth-round pick in 2017, which the Eagles would receive instead in that scenario.
