Trevor Siemian to start again for Broncos against Los Angeles Rams
It wouldn’t surprise me to see White make a splash play and improve on Davis’ 44-yard run in last week’s loss to the Houston Texans.

Fantasy impact: In all likelihood, we’re going to see all three quarterbacks in the game on Saturday. Against the defending Super Bowl champions, he did nothing that significantly hurt his chances to win the quarterback job, and barring a scintillating Colin Kaepernick performance next week against the Packers, Gabbert is in line to start Week 1 against the Rams.
Fantasy Impact: Siemian and Sanchez are now listed as co-starters on the Broncos’ depth chart, but Siemian will get the start tonight, with Sanchez as the number two. Sanchez disappointed in his second preseason game, going 10-17 for 120 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions. Kubiak had good things to say about each of the quarterbacks and praised them for pushing each other.
On Saturday, Siemian and Sanchez will play 1.5 quarters apiece, and Paxton Lynch will show what he can do the remainder of the game. In Paxton’s case, his best plays won’t be the ones drawn up in the playbook-no, they will be the ones that he makes on his own, with his instincts, on his raw talent alone-the ones that make your jaw drop, and will lift 78,000 fans to their feet and send a roar of excitement across the Mile High City.
Now, Sanchez, Lynch, and last year’s third-stringer, Trevor Siemian, are in a three-way race for the starter’s job, and the results have been less than encouraging. He said the sore shoulder shouldn’t prevent him from practicing Tuesday or playing Saturday.
That, above all, is why Siemian gets another shot with the starters – and why he could be in pole position to be the starter against Carolina, despite having never thrown a regular-season pass. Sanchez was also sacked three times. He was 10-of-17 for 120 yards and was almost picked off by cornerback Chris Davis. “No excuse for that. Poor, poor quarterbacking play”.
You might remember that Broncos coach Gary Kubiak replaced the legendary Peyton Manning last season after a four-interception effort against the Kansas City Chiefs. Denver was hoping to avoid the uncertainty that persisted previous year between Manning and Osweiler.
Gabbert was expected to start against the Broncos on Saturday night with Jeff Driskel also seeing time.
Halfway through the exhibition season, and the Broncos can’t get a name for the stadium and can’t get a name for the starting quarterback.
But raw numbers might not be the determining factor in this quarterback battle. He’s battling for the weak-side linebacker role with Michael Wilhoite and Gerald Hodges, the two guys who split that starting role last season. “We made it work”.
“That’s Mark; he’s a competitive guy”, Kubiak said Monday.
“I knew this was going to take some time”, he said.
The Broncos are desperate for a quarterback who won’t get in their way.

The job description of an NFL coach is part football mind, part psychologist and part smoke-screener. His body of work was enough for Kubiak to give Siemian the start.
