Trial nears close for officer accused of rape
But jurors found him not guilty of two counts of sexual battery by a law enforcement officer with a firearm, armed kidnapping, and one count called unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior while armed – using his role as a cop to get what he wanted from the woman.

Assistant State Attorneys Jessica Kahn and Marci Rex described the 36-year-old as brazen, saying he preyed upon the woman he was supposed to be helping after her friend’s arrest on fleeing and eluding charges left her stranded and frightened.
Maiorino claimed the sex was consensual.
The six-person jury panel in Boynton Beach deliberated for 10 hours spread over two days before clearing Maiorino of all the charges.
Meanwhile, back in the courtroom, Maiorino buried his head in his hands, relieved by the verdict.
According to multiple published reporters, an eight-year veteran of Boynton Beach police who once starred in an episode TruTV’s ‘Most Shocking, ‘ Maiorino met his victim after the driver of the vehicle she was in was arrested for a DUI.
He was accused of raping a woman near Interstate 95 while on-duty previous year.
As Maiorino went about his business, the woman went to a hospital with her mother shortly after and two weeks later filed a lawsuit against the police station. A used condom and other evidence were found in the field the next day by investigators. She said she had asked her father to stop after the crash but he refused.
Defense attorneys argued that Maiorino gave her his business card, hoping that she’d contact him to meet up again, in a manner that would suggest that it was consensual.
They also said that because he did not bother cleaning up the DNA evidence from his uniform after they had sex – or try to hide the used condom later found at the scene – then it was obviously consensual.
There were inconsistencies in the accuser’s story, he said, over whether Maiorino had threatened to kill her or arrest her before the first sex act, or where he held the gun.

The woman defended that the photo, taken back in high school, was in no way sexual and did not suggest her as having a fantasy of having sex on a cop auto.
