Ahmed Manasra, a 13-year old Palestinian accused of taking part in the stabbing of two Israelis earlier this month, is escorted by Israeli security during a hearing at a Jerusalem court on October 30, 2015.

“We will not give up to the logic of brute force, policies of occupation and aggression practiced by the Israeli government and the herd of settlers who are engaged in terrorism against our people, our holy places, our homes, our trees and the execution of our children in cold blood, as they did with the child.and other children from Jerusalem”, he said.

However, a number of Israeli military officials had claimed that the Israeli trooper had acted in self-defense. Activists have released a handful of amateur videos supporting the Palestinian claims, but the Hebron shooting is perhaps the strongest evidence of Israeli wrongdoing so far. Washington has traditionally tempered statements by the so-called “Quartet” of mediators with careful diplomatic language, but the diplomats said the U.S.in this case will align itself closer to the positions of the European Union, Russia and the United Nations, who emphasize Israel’s role in the Mideast impasse.

The top brass of the Israeli military have condemned his actions, but rightwing politicians have argued that he has been unfairly treated. Up to that time, about four Palestinian families lived in the building that was taken over Monday, said Daniel Luria of the Ateret Cohanim settler group.

“The three-story building, which is owned by Palestinian residents, is situated only 300 meters from the Al-Aqsa Mosque”, he said.

Luria said the property was purchased legally by an investor whom he would not identify.
