Black spoke about ageing in a frank interview with the Daily Mirror ahead of her 71st birthday previous year.

BLACK leaves behind three sons, her oldes ROBERT, who was her manager, BEN and JACK.

She added: “I’ve just been watching the tributes”.

“The piece was about colours and I somehow decided the colour in her surname must have been Black, so that’s what I called her”. I kept telling her she’d outlive us all.

Some reports have claimed that the star may have died after a fall from a dizzy spell, caused by a sudden temperature change in a room at her villa but this has not been confirmed.

A spokeswoman from the high court of justice in Andalucía, which is investigating Black’s death, said it was likely the singer had died naturally, but an accident may have contributed.

Black’s death is not being treated as suspicious but post-mortem results were “inconclusive”, according to reports quoting Spanish police. I am deeply sorry for her family’s loss. After a failed bid to crack the US, she became the fi rst woman to land her own UK prime-time chat show.

Signed by the Fab Four’s manager, Brian Epstein, she had a string of hits starting in 1964 with “Anyone Who Had a Heart“, written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and “You’re My World“.

Black had a home in Estepona, Spain.

Priscilla was at that time known to her friends as Cilla and he asked her to write a fashion column for his new venture.

“She was a lovely girl who infected everyone with her great spirit”.

She started out working in the cloakroom at the Cavern club, where fellow Liverpudlians The Beatles were first spotted, before taking to the stage as a singer herself. She was always around in the local shops. “It was a privilege to know and love her”.

On Sunday actress Sheridan paid tribute to Cilla, saying: “I’m absolutely devastated to hear the tragic news about Cilla“.

Eventually she earned a singing spot and soon became a star there – even making friends and performing with The Beatles.

Christopher also admitted that he thinks Cilla never really came to terms with the death of her husband Bobby Willis in 1999.
