Tributes to veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey who has died aged 86
Creating a deep void in the world of Indian cinema, Bollywood actor Saeed Jaffrey, who had also appeared in several worldwide films, passed away, his family confirmed.

Jaffrey was additionally a consistent on British TV, with parts in The Jewel In The Crown, Coronation Street, Common As Muck and so forth.
Saeed received his BAFTA nomination for his starring role in “My attractive Laundrette” and more recently, was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1995 for his contributions to drama.
He leaves his wife Jennifer Jaffrey, as well as three children by his first wife, the actress and author Madhur Jaffrey.
Veteran Bollywood actor Saeed Jaffrey passed away on 15 November 2015 due to age-related ailments.
Saeed Jaffrey was honoured with many awards and honours like Filmfare awards for his performances in Heena, Ram Teri Ganga Maili and Satyajit Ray’s Shatranj Ke Khiladi. “Can’t forget your kindness and enthusiasm for your art and others”, he tweeted. The superstar had a long association with the veteran actor having worked with him in five films including “Jab Pyar Kisi We Hota Hai, Deewana Mastana, Veergati” and others. Saeed Jaffrey started his acting career with the small stage and then moved on by setting up a theatre company of his own in New Delhi. In 1984 he reprised the role of Hamidullah in a big screen version of “A Passage to India” and a year later starred in the cult classic British film “My handsome Laundrette”.
“Saddened by the demise of versatile actor #SaeedJaffrey ji”. His publishers had been expecting a book of sedate recollections about his experiences working with famous directors.

In a response to one of her posts, she wrote: “This is a message from my aunt for all you kind people: “My darling husband Saeed died very peacefully on Saturday morning, in London, following a very sudden brain haemorrhage”. Shatranj ke Khiladi!!! My fav. The drama industry has suffered a great loss, but was also graced with a great talent.
