“Nationalism just doesn’t mean hoisting the flag and singing Vande Mataram”. The flag will be hoisted on a 207-feet high mast, as per media reports. CPM leader Brinda Karat also slammed government for the decision.
The HRD ministry called the meeting of VCs after the death of dalit scholar Rohith Vemula at the University of Hyderabad triggered a massive controversy and brought the spotlight on problems faced by disadvantaged sections.
“To encourage love for your country you should hoist the national flag”, he added.
Besides to enable students to take correct personal and professional decisions, universities will implement a professional system of comprehensive guidance and counseling by experts.
