Steve Carter was killed on a hiking trail in Fairfax on Oct. 5 and Audrey Carey of Quebec was killed in Golden Gate Park on Oct. 3.
Murder charges have been filed against three vagabonds accused of killing a prominent therapist in Marin County and a Canadian Tourist in San Francisco, Marin County District Attorney’s office announced Monday.
The suspects are: 24-year-old Sean Michael Angold, 23-year-old Morrison Haze Lampley and 18-year-old Lola Scott Alligood.
The criminal complaint will be amended to include charges in the slaying of Audrey Carey, 23, whose body was found October. 3 in Golden Gate Park, said Chief Deputy District Attorney Dori Ahana.
Those circumstances are for murder after lying in wait, which means hiding with a plan to surprise the victims, and murder while involved in a robbery. They are traveling under guard from Portland and are expected to be booked in jail Monday, Marin County sheriff’s Lt. Doug Pittman said.
An arraignment hearing for the three of them has been set for Wednesday, authorities said.
It’s unclear when they will be arraigned. He was still clutching the leash of his dog, which as also shot, but is expected to survive.
The three suspects were arrested at a homeless shelter in Portland, Oregon, after being tracked through the navigation system of Carter’s stolen vehicle, detective said.
A handgun stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked near San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood was the weapon allegedly used in both murders, police said. He lived nearby with friends while caring for his cancer-stricken wife.
