The Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner has become the world’s fastest ever Triumph by achieving a speed of 274.2 miles per hour at the Bonneville Salt Flats on 8 August 2016.

After a few days of running in near flawless conditions, the Isle of Man TT icon rewrote Triumph history, posting a 274.2 miles per hour in Division C (streamlined motorcycle) category. But the record set by Triumph this week was achieved during practice.
Triumph says a steady start allowed Martin to push on to the new record speed, before coming to a controlled stop just after the two-mile mark near the team’s base.
The record run has further added to Guy Martin’s confidence in his commitment to break the World two wheeled Land Speed record.
According to the Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner team, Guy has adapted very quickly to piloting the streamliner and the team is confident that they will be able to break the record of 376.4mph later this month.
That speed falls short of the current land speed record for a streamliner – 376.363 miles per hour – which has been held by Rocky Robinson since 2010.

The Triumph Infor Rocket features a carbon Kevlar monocoque construction with two turbocharged Triumph Rocket III engines producing a combined 1000 hp at 9000 rpm. At 25.5 feet long, 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide, the streamliner has been purpose-built to cut through air to achieve high speeds. Triumph uses only motorcycle power for its Streamliner, but just smashed its personal record at the Bonneville Salt Flats. “We are keeping a close watch on the developments at the Bonneville Salt Flats and hope the new land speed record comes home”. This was followed by the debut of the first-generation Triumph Bonneville T120 in 1959. The company’s global headquarters are located in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England, exclusively owned by Bloor Holdings Ltd. Triumph Motorcycles America Ltd., its North American subsidiary, is based in Atlanta, Ga., and is home to the motorcycle industry’s first 24/7 Customer Support team.
