The crash closed a portion of I-90 between Cle Elum and Ellensburg.
A auto and the semi truck crashed in the westbound lanes of I-90 about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, near SR 970, about one mile east of Cle Elem.
Washington Department of Transportation officials reopened eastbound I-90 around 2:20 p.m.
The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office said the truck is carrying tanks of anhydrous ammonia.
Both east and westbound lanes are closed in the area due to 4 Anhydrous Ammonia tanks falling off the semi-truck.
The collision was in the westbound lane, and involved a tanker truck and at least one other vehicle, Trooper Brian Moore tweeted. Residents one mile downwind from the crash were told to close their windows and turn off their heating and air conditioning.
