Two semi trucks and at least one auto caught fire on the Stevenson Expressway Monday morning near Cicero Avenue, causing all northbound and southbound lanes to be closed, according to Illinois State Police.
Southbound and northbound lanes remain closed in the area. All of the vehicles appeared to be fully engulfed by flames, and thick, black smoke could be seen for miles.
The Stevenson was shut down after two trucks caught fire on Monday.
The Illinois State Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit is responding to the scene.
