Trudeau meets with the Queen and British Prime Minister David Cameron
In a three-line toast before a meeting of the Commonwealth – countries that were part of the British Empire before they became independent, and retain the Queen as nominal head of state – the Queen singled out Trudeau, 43, for some playful banter. On Wednesday the Daily Mail, a British tabloid known for its celebrity-obsessed coverage, suggested Trudeau had greets UK Prime Minister David Cameron with a “patronising” handshake when the two met for a bilateral discussion at 10 Downing St.

In 1978, the Queen had just left Canada and the military band was still playing marches, so 3-year-old Sacha and 5-year-old Justin marched back and forth while their father, Prime Minister Treudeau, was walking to his plane yesterday for their return to Ottawa from Edmonton. “We don’t expect that the targets will be internationally legally binding”, she said.
TRUDEAU will be in Valletta, Malta, to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting being held from November 27 to 29.
French President Francois Hollande, who was invited to address the Commonwealth meeting in advance of the Paris talks, commended the announcements by Canada, as well as Australia, to top up their climate funding. Will Canada become a world leader in the fight against human-driven climate change?
Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat unveiled a new $1 billion (940-million-euro) Commonwealth Green Finance Facility to support environmental projects within the 53-nation bloc.
Hollande’s visit ensures Trudeau will be discussing Canada’s role in fighting Islamic terrorism as well as climate change and matters of Commonwealth governance.
He also noted: “Climate change is an immediate and significant threat to our communities and our economy”.

In fact, the adviser said, not a single world leader has questioned Canada’s pending withdrawal from the air war during the last two weeks of fevered worldwide summitry. “I look forward to partnering with provinces and territories – and all parties – to achieve an ambitious worldwide climate agreement at COP 21 for our and all future generations”.
