As Trump struggled to turn the page on a hard period in his campaign, Clinton’s campaign continued a push to win over Republicans and independents Wednesday, launching a group called “Together for America”.
Donald Trump and his campaign are responding to accusations that the candidate encouraged “Second Amendment people” to commit violence against Hillary Clinton during a rally Tuesday.
The Trump campaign issued a statement saying that Trump meant people who support the Second Amendment are unified and will vote together.
Trump has suffered what critics insist is a long string of missteps that have marred his campaign since he officially won the nomination last month, prompting several Republicans to reject his candidacy. I said pro-2A citizens must organize and get out vote to save our Constitution!
He also defended Trump against 50 military experts who signed a letter saying they would not be supporting his presidential bid in November.
So it’s highly unlikely Trump will drop out.
In the wake of the Democratic National Convention, the billionaire responded to criticisms of him made by the father of a dead USA soldier, sparking an unprecedented feud between a major presidential candidate and a Gold Star family.
A new ad released by the National Rifle Association criticizes Hillary Clinton for being protected by the Secret Service with the false claim that Clinton receives protection even though “she doesn’t believe in your right to keep a gun at home for self-defense”. She has said repeatedly that she supports the Second Amendment right to own guns, but backs some stricter controls. “I’m not here to take away your guns”.
The latest came Wednesday with the Daily News calling for the Republican Party and vice presidential nominee Mike Pence to “abandon Trump for toying with political bloodshed” after Trump’s controversial Second Amendment comments at a Tuesday press conference.
On Tuesday night, House Speaker Paul Ryan urged Trump to clarify the comments.
Hillary Clinton’s Twitter account sent out a message from former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was badly injured in a shooting at a constituent outreach event she held in Tucson, Ariz., in 2011 that killed six people.
